Upon finishing the last segment of a five day backpack to Clear Creek on the north rim of the Grand Canyon, my youngest son Jake proudly announced that he was "canyon tough," and thus Canyon Tough was born.

We minimize the impact of our trips
Our day hikes and backpacking trips revolve around low-impact practices and travel guidelines. We also use and encourage group transportation whenever possible.
We minimize the impact of our gear and apparel
Our commitment to minimal impact doesn't stop on the trail. We use 100% organic cotton in our signature tees, as well as post-consumer recycled paper for all of our materials.
We contribute hundreds of hours each year to land agencies
Through outdoor volunteer projects and service programs, we donate our time to land agencies such as the Forest Service and National Park Service to assist in trail building, habitat restoration, and environmental education.
We introduce urban youth to the wonders of nature
Our guides have donated their services to assist in getting urban teens outdoors on hiking, backpacking, and rafting adventures.
We educate and inspire activism
Our trips immerse you into the wild splendor of nature. Our guides share with you their knowledge about local environmental challenges and about what you can do to help.
