Aravaipa Canyon

Day 1
We will meet in Winkleman or at the trailhead for the start of our trip through the land of "Little Running Water". We will walk in the creek and on a faint trail to Horse Camp Canyon and set up camp in this classic desert riparian habitat, where perhaps we will have the opportunity to see the glimmer of fire flys over the creek at night.

Day 2
We will take the opportunity to explore several of the abundant side canyons where water sometimes collects in deep pools. This will give us an opportunity to perhaps view a coatamundi or ringtail cat because Aravaipai is where wildlife abounds.

Day 3
We will meander back to the trailhead, having visited one of the best Wilderness areas in the country.

Day 4 (optional)
A fourth day may be added for robust hikers that would enjoy traveling to the eastern end of the canyon and back to Horse Camp Canyon.
